Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account on Investa, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the platform. We require your explicit consent at registration — the tick-box you checked is your binding digital signature.

2. The Service

Investa is a technology platform that connects retail investors with Nigerian partner banks offering fixed-deposit investment products. We are not a bank, a licensed fund manager, or a securities dealer. The underlying fixed-deposit agreements are between you and the respective partner bank. Investa facilitates the process and is not a party to those agreements.

3. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must be a Nigerian resident or citizen with a valid NIN.
• You must complete KYC verification before placing any investment.
• You must not be under any court order that restricts dealing in financial assets.

4. Identity Verification (KYC)

As required by CBN AML/KYC guidelines and the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022, you must provide:

• Your National Identification Number (NIN)
• A clear photo or scan of your NIN card or slip

Providing false, stolen, or fabricated identity documents is a criminal offence under Nigerian law. Your KYC submission is reviewed by our compliance team. We reserve the right to decline or revoke verification without giving reasons where fraud is suspected.

5. Investments

• Investment products are offered by partner banks, not by Investa.
• Interest rates, terms, and minimum/maximum amounts are set by the partner bank and may change for new investments at any time.
• Once an investment is booked and payment confirmed, it is locked for the stated term. Early withdrawal is not available unless explicitly offered by the partner bank.
• Payout at maturity is subject to the partner bank settling funds to your designated account. Delays caused by the banking system are outside Investa's control.
• Investa may earn a service fee from the interest generated on your investment. This is disclosed in the product details before you invest.

6. Payments

Payments are processed via Paystack. Each investment is assigned a dedicated virtual account. You must transfer the exact amount shown — over or under-payments may result in delays or rejection. Investa does not hold your funds; all money flows directly between you and the partner bank via Paystack's infrastructure.

7. Account Security

• You are responsible for keeping your password and two-factor authentication codes confidential.
• You must notify us immediately at support@investaa.online if you suspect unauthorised access.
• We will never ask for your password by email or phone.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

• Use the platform for money laundering, terrorism financing, or any illegal purpose
• Attempt to circumvent identity verification or invest on behalf of another person without authorisation
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate access to the platform without written permission

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Investa's liability for any claim arising from the use of this platform is limited to the service fees paid by you in the preceding 12 months. Investa is not liable for: losses arising from partner bank insolvency; delays in banking infrastructure; market risk on the underlying deposits; or force majeure events.

10. Termination

We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, fail KYC, or if we are required to do so by law or a regulatory authority. You may close your account at any time by contacting support — subject to any active investments being settled first.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
